Almere Stadplan is the part of large New Urban Town schemes. I happen to be a strange visitor here but eventually got adjusted with the surroundings. the design of transition of spaces and division of same is meticulous. However, rightly said, it lacks the social cohesion and vernacular in terms of built form. Must say this is a fantastic work of Product Design at its best.
One conclusion from this can be drawn that the people are still affectionated by traditional built forms and that entirely cannot be furbished through advance designs and i feel, that’s the real challenge in new town scheme. The technology and industrial design can be used in emerging countries to augment the solution.
